Tacos in Commerce, TX

“My normal gas station is being renovated so I went on down the road a bit. The aroma from the taqueria inside was amazing. I wasn't even hungry atm, but figured I'd grab lunch and meet hubby at his work later for a car picnic. We shared everything except the spicy salsa because that was all his.

The quesabirria tacos were so absolutely delicious! I could easily see just sipping the sauce as a soup. The meat was tender and full of flavor -even without the sauce they were excellent. The queso was a great binder, adding body and structure to the taco.

We also really liked the tripas tacos. I was given a choice between crispy and soft tripas, and couldn't remember how hubby preferred it so went with middle ish? They came with grilled onions along with the usual fresh onion/cilantro. The crunchy bits with soft onion, noms. I didn't really end up using my mild salsa, because everything already had so much flavor. Hubby did like the extra punch of the spicy red salsa.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be back to grab some menudo in the morning, I'm looking forward to trying it!“
