It has a clean, welcoming atmosphere with friendly people who make you feel right at home. The fried catfish is easily the best I've had and is worth making the trip for on its own. There's also a well-stocked store with everything you might need if you're visiting the lake, and plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. The relaxed, local feel makes the whole experience even better. Hole in the wall cafe serving good burgers, fried catfish and barbecue. The onion rings and the fries are made from real onions and real potatoes. Catfish was delicious too. They also sell bait, sunburn remedies, and have a double cooler of cold drinks. Not glam but who needs that? On the edge of the reservoir on the Palestine Highway. Worth a stop.

We eat there at least once a month when we travel to Palestine Texas, and the food is very good. The cook and staff are very friendly and honest...plus will make you any special order that's not on their menu, as long as they have the ingredients.
I highly recommend their food to anyone traveling in that direction.
