This place is all about community, and you will feel it when you step inside. It is owned/operated by the Hines family, who will make you feel welcome and like part of the family! They offer delicious homemade bagels, soups, sandwiches, baked goods, and the best cup of coffee around. There is also a great boutique area with fun clothing, jewelry, and home accessories (they carry Tyler candles/products). I highly recommend Timbers to anyone looking for a relaxing spot for a great cup of coffee, or bite to eat. Timbers is a real gem!”

“It has a clean, welcoming atmosphere with friendly people who make you feel right at home. The fried catfish is easily the best I've had and is worth making the trip for on its own. There's also a well-stocked store with everything you might need if you're visiting the lake, and plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. The relaxed, local feel makes the whole experience even better. I keep telling myself I'll try something different from the menu, but the catfish is just too good to pass up.”

“Hands down, The Pelican Grill is the best! I had the BLT with chips, and he had the quesadilla with chips and salsa — both were delicious. But what really set this place apart was how incredibly pet-friendly they are. "Pet-friendly" is honestly an understatement. Our fur baby was treated like royalty! She was brought a cup of water and and we purchased a hamburger patty, and she got to sit at the table with us and eat. We felt so welcomed, and so did she. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a place that truly doesn’t discriminate against animals.”

The food was hot, flavored well and just a great meal. We had the meatloaf and tilapia with sides. The Cajun cheese bites for an appetizer, and rolls were melt in your mouth … great!!! I’m glad to leave this review, both customer service and food are lacking most places now… this was a great dining experience!”

“We recently passed by El Mexicano Grill, we were a group of 16 people, the treatment and kindness of the service staff was excellent, it is a spacious place with good hygiene.
I would like to take some time to talk about the seasoning and quality of the products used to make the food. They are not bad, but they can improve.
We ordered a Cuban cake and the bread was very dry, like bread from many days old, my little son had flautas stuffed with chicken and it was chicken like a stew that was left over, for a Mexican restaurant it is okay, but the seasoning could be greatly improved and better represent our country. ??”

I'm beyond thrilled that we stopped in there, because OMG 😳 their food is authentic and amazing! “Everytime we're in Corsicana we visit this Church's Chicken location! Our visit today 11/12/24 (around 1pm) was excellent! The lady at the front desk has amazing customer service skills. She greeted us upon entry and got our food ready really fast during our dine-in visit. She even took time to separate our spicy chicken from the regular chicken and put it in separate box for our toddler. The chicken was hot and fresh! The sweet tea was awesome! Love this place. Please keep up the great work guys! Thank you for your service yesterday!”

“Wife & I eat at Aguados quite often. Great cheesy grits, and of the many things we've eaten there, we've NEVER had a bad meal. I highly recommend them for breakfast or lunch. Fantastic place to eat. And their fried pies are super delicious and almost a meal by themselves. They don't make them until you order them, so they are fresh and hot.”

Driving Dallas ↔ Houston at 2am and need zabiha halal? Turbo Joe's inside the gas station has your back. Don’t expect white tablecloths — it’s a food counter in a convenience store — but for fresh halal on the road, it delivers.

We almost bailed after seeing mixed reviews about halal authenticity. Sheikh Mubeen Kamani’s review is what convinced us to try it. No regrets.

The good stuff: Burgers, wings, fries are all made fresh right in front of you. They use separate fryers for chicken/fries vs. other non-halal items, which we really appreciated. Service is super friendly — they even let us sample the biryani before buying. It’s not winning any biryani awards, but it passed the taste test so we grabbed some. Heads up: biryani is the only thing they warm up vs. cook fresh.

Pricing: Solid. Most items under $10, nothing over $15.

Watch outs:
1. Menu is confusing. Lists “Angus beef” burgers and regular burgers, but they only have one beef. You’ll get charged the Angus price no matter what — $1 more across the board.
2. Buns are huge but a bit sweet. Owner, please add a savory bun option! Would be perfect.
3. Fountain drinks: sip before you fill. My Sprite tasted like carbonated vinegar… but we were already miles down I-45 when we noticed.

Bottom line: For fresh, late-night zabiha halal between Dallas and Houston, Turbo Joe's is clutch. Not fine dining, but it hits the spot when you need it most. Worth the stop.”
