I wanted a little snack for under $5 and I luckily found Cousins BBQ. I ordered a side of collard greens ($4.50) and this is the best collard greens I've ever had. It was spicy, a touch sweet, and had a hint of apple cider vinegar tang. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous addition of red bell pepper and onion. There was nice chunks of smokey meat too (Pork? Turkey?) I will have to get myself to a Cousins restaurant when I move to Dallas next month. Gives me a reason...
If you are looking for authentic Texas bbq this is not it. The sliced brisket is too peppery, the baked beans are not sweet, the street corn is spicy, and the potato salad is a northern potato salad. Too expensive to not taste good, I will pass next time I am at Dallas Airport. The staff did attempt to correct by giving me sausage and that tasted okay. If you have time to leave the airport Dallas has some of the best bbq in America.
Really solid food. Portion size for the side was a bit small but overall happy with the quality. It is pricey but honestly not outrageous for an airport. If you avoid the drinks and sides you will get the best bang for your buck.
