Friend and I met at Fortune House for lunch. Our first impression was that it was an interesting establishment.
The woman at the front desk not terribly friendly and she didn't speak very loudly so we had difficulty understanding what she wanted.
She seemed rather bored with her position.
We were seated and our server was very professional and very cordial a complete 180 from the person at the front desk.

The food is excellent. Had the basil chicken, kung pao, eggplant in garlic sauce - all outstanding and not the usual same base sauce situation. Beware though, they will try to hustle you out even while you’re still eating.

I've been to this place a few times now and every time I've went, the experience has been really consistently solid. What stood out to me was honestly the pricing of the menu - you can get quite a few entrees for $13-14!! The quality of the food is definitely a step above your average (somewhat-westernized) Chinese restaurant.
