We stopped in this place for convenience. We were meeting one of the kids who lives in Katy. The food was oustanding and very quick. However, the coffee was terrible. I sent the first cup back saying something is wrong with it. They made a new pot and gave a cup of it- same terrible taste. I didnt know I was such a coffee snob, but this coffee tasted like it was filtered with paper towel causing it to be biter and very off.
In a world of pre-packaged restaurants, where all restaurant food, regardless of the "cuisine" tastes the same, Franks Restuarant, near the corner of Highway 6 and Clay Rd., is a refreshing discovery. I began visiting shortly after they reopened after Hurricane Harvey. The breakfast I had that particular morning had me regretting all of the times I had not eaten at Franks. This place has been here since the 60's and you can see why. The food is cooked to order and always great. Some portions are adequate but some portions are over flowing. The chicken fried steak is the size if a dinner plate. Breakfast is our favorite time to go. . There is something for everyone.
