This place used to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants. I stopped in last night with my daughter for the first time in a while as we were in the area. We were both tired and hungry. The waitress didn’t confirm my sushi order with me only a roll which I had erased so when she brought out a bowl of sashimi worth $40 I was surprised and told her I ordered sushi not sashimi. It was my mistake but had she confirmed my order we would’ve caught it. She offered to bring rice which wasn’t necessarily the issue. My daughter felt bad and didn’t want to waste the food so she took her up on the rice offer. Come to find out, she charged us for the rice. No attempt to make anything right. Aside from this, the crab on the spicy crab roll was dry and rubbery and tasted terrible and the tuna was also very poor quality. I did not enjoy the food or the smug waitress. Overpriced. We won’t be back.

Hidden Gem - best value in Dallas! Baked Salmon, Crispy Tuna, and the Fujiyama Rolls were very fresh and a steal for the price! Attentive service and the friendly chef even surprised us with a free roll to try!

If I lived closer I would be here several times a week! Such a hidden gem!! This is hands down one of my favorite sushi places in DFW and I have been to many. The fish is always fresh the ambience is laid back and the selection is vast. They are always consistently so good!

Went here with some friends last night. Everyone was incredibly friendly and everything we got was incredibly tasty! Will definitely come back next time I’m in the area!
We absolutely love Fujiyama. My husband and I met for our first date here and drank sake and shared a roll. Now years later while I am pregnant with our second it has become my go to spot for the most delicious cooked rolls of ANYWHERE in the DFW area. Everything from the cooked food to the raw rolls to the cooked rolls is top tier. We have never had bad service never even an off day for the kitchen. Highly recommend!!Dietary restrictions: If pregnant and looking for cooked rolls you cannot go wrong.

I had a disappointing experience at the sushi restaurant when the waitress/owner clumsily spilled sweet and sour sauce on my clothes. To add insult to injury, their idea of compensation was a meager ten percent discount, which translated to a paltry four bucks off. It left me with stained clothes and a sense of dissatisfaction.

I have been coming here for years but tonight, 11/16/23, after spending $160+ dollars in restaurant, I placed a to-go order only to have a hair in it. I called the restaurant and was only told the restaurant was not accepting anymore orders and to call back tomorrow for 10% off my order. After spending the amount I did, not acceptable.

TLDR: new management in the past year; prices up 25% while taste and quality down 30%, far less value than old FujiyamaWe used to live in DFW, but moved away two years ago. Fujiyama was a must-go every time we were in town; we hadn't been in about a year, but we went this week only to find out that management had changed.Frankly, the interior was revamped and looked more spacious and updated; however, the food and value seems to have taken a hit.Independently, I would rate the new Fujiyama a 7/10 (old Fujiyama was a 9.5/10). Old Fujiyama would not have cheaped out and served white tuna in the sushi/sashimi combo, also our salmon avocado rolls (now $9.5) barely had any fish inside. Overall the prices have increased about 25% while quality and taste dropped ~30%. I'm honestly very sad to hear about the management change as the old chef was always so kind to us. Fujiyama will no longer be on our list of must-visits on our trips back to DFW.

This has been our hidden gem for years! The owner/chef knows our kids/ loves sharing new ideas/foods with us/ always welcoming! The mackerel is AMAZING. Chef "one like the number" is an amazing person. Love the food. Will be back 10 out of 5!
