McRae's American Bistro & Cocktails is a lively neighborhood spot known for its simple yet delicious menu. The filet and halibut are highly praised. Desserts like the Crème Brûlée are a perfect “chef’s kiss” finish, and the generous size makes for a perfect ending. The cocktails are decent, and the wine is superb. The decor is cool and cozy with a moody and eccentric vibe; the art is fun and eclectic, making it a hidden gem on Garland Rd. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable, and the service is fantastic and on point. Recent visits have seen dishes like the Shrimp and Grits, Salmon Oscar, and pizza receive high praise. The Reuben Fries are perfectly crispy and absolutely worth ordering again.
