Tupinamba Cafe offers a unique and delightful Mexican dining experience. The menu features a variety of Tex-Mex classics, including their famous Tupi Tacos and fajitas, as well as hidden gems like the chicken embuleto and pork soto. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant, with attentive and unhurried service. Customers praise the authentic and flavorful dishes, with the tamales, taco salad, chili relleno, and combo #1 being particular highlights. The rice and beans are awesome, and the shrimp in ranchero sauce has a very good smokey flavor. Solid, old-school Tex-Mex is done well here, with crispy Tupy Tacos that are satisfying and nostalgic. Service is friendly, portions are generous, and the place has a warm, reliable feel that many customers appreciate.
The family-run restaurant is known for its fresh, hot, and plentiful fajitas, as well as its delicious and diverse menu. The salsa is described as nice and hot, just the way many customers like it. The staff is friendly and accommodating, providing fast service and a lovely atmosphere, whether for a family gathering, a date night, or a business lunch. The portions are generous, and the overall experience is considered a "Dallas gem" worth visiting multiple times a month.
Recently, guests have enjoyed the fabulous experience with amazing food and excellent service. One customer had to modify a menu item due to an allergy, and the staff happily made the change, making it a weekly favorite for Mexican food. Another visitor celebrated V-Day with a late lunch-early dinner, or "Dunch," with margaritas involved. They loved the fresh-tasting guacamole with just the right hint of lime and salt, and the crispy Tupy Tacos. The carne asada was seasoned well, topped with onions and sliced poblanos, and every bite was excellent. The borracho beans complemented the meal perfectly. The spacious, beautifully decorated new location is great for date nights or family outings. Service was excellent, and many look forward to trying the puff tacos on their next visit.
