“Brought my Aunt from Michigan to see my Mom in Del Rio, TX. They met old high school friends and we ate their bisteak ranchero plate and their Chorizo plate. Both plates were very delicious. We loved how the beef steak was cut on small pieces in their savory ranchero sauce. Their Mazeca tortillas in authentic Mexico style were Amazing. Very friendly staff and a great local find. Highly recommend.“

“I travel to Del Rio Texas every year to visit family. and We make sure we eat here at Mexico Tipico a couple times during our stay! The food is great we've had their pancake breakfast and buffet style lunch. and the food is delicious and the restaurant is clean! service is kind and courteous! my family and I will always be coming to eat here every time we are in town!“

The only problem I have is they wanted to charge me extra for asking them not to put beans on one of my breakfast tacos. I can see adding if I wanted an extra topping, but charging me to remove one of the items that is included doesn't make sense to me?“

“We went to this place to order take out. It was reasonably priced and good size portions. Service was quick and staff was very nice. The food was good, especially their refried beans. Not too salty and cooked to perfection. What I noticed was their buffet. It looked amazing and such a wonderful price. It had fresh fruit too. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that they didn't serve any desserts other than brownies on their buffet. We were hoping for tres leches or other types of Mexican desserts or sweet breads.“

“The decor is a bit eclectic, but there is plenty of parking and seating. I had the crispy beef tacos #4. They were delicious and came with extras like sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans. It's a solid choice for tex-mex. Fast and friendly service. Casual dining experience.“

“it was a mixed experience overall.
Starting with the atmosphere, the place has a nice, relaxed vibe. The decor is warm and rustic, which fits the steakhouse theme well. It feels like the kind of place you could enjoy a long dinner with friends or family. The lighting and music were just right—not too loud, not too dim. There’s definitely effort put into making the setting feel welcoming and comfortable.
As for the food, it was just OK. Not bad, but nothing to really rave about either. The steaks were decent, but I’ve had better cuts and seasoning elsewhere. The sides were a bit underwhelming and didn’t quite stand out. It's the kind of meal you forget pretty quickly after leaving.
The biggest downside was the service. It was noticeably slow from the moment we walked in. We waited quite a while to be seated even though it wasn’t packed, and the time it took to get our food felt excessive. Our server was polite but seemed overwhelmed or possibly understaffed.
Overall, Manuel’s has potential, especially with its atmosphere, but both the food and service could use improvement to justify a return visit.“
