“its a high quality store, however, theres a delivery driver named Joseph and he’s well into his 50’s maybe even 70’s if we’re pushing it. it seems like hes in constant pain and can hardly walk or get out of his car. it makes me wonder if he’d be better doing something like working the register if hes in severe discomfort.“

“We found this place on Google and it was close to our hotel. We all loved it. Everything is made on site or grown locally. My hubby loves "meat porn" so this was his place. When you first walk in, they have their homemade meats hanging in a meat locker. I thought he was going to lose his mind! Pizza and dessert was beyond fantastic! It all is fresh AF. No joke. “Went there for dinner with our kids. Ordered a large pizza, wings (was out of the flavor we wanted) 2 Caesar salads, 2 soft drinks and 4 waters. We see 6 soft drinks on the screen and say we only wanted 2. Lady says they charge for water. 3$ for tap water? Ok fine, whatever.

Some guy brings out the 2 Caesar salads. Says something about not being able to find the dressing. Another lady comes out and says they are out of Caesar dressing and offer us other options. Pizza comes out and we ask for a side of ranch dressing. Lady looks us dead in the eyes and says they are $.99.

So after charging us $12 for tap water, messing up the Caesar salads, they now want another $1 for a tiny side of ranch dressing?

Needless to say, we will never step foot back in this place.

Edit: was contacted by the company and they made it right. Which to me, says a lot. Not many companies are willing to do that lately. Changing to 4 stars.

“I was excited to learn about this place from my son, as we've not found a truly remarkable pizza in San Antonio. We loved Ms Ellies, but since it closed, nothing else has checked all the right buttons on our pizza meter. The crust was phenomenal....thin base, bubbled up charred edges, slight crisp on the surface giving way to the perfect chew. The sauce...perfect in its simplicity...just tomatoes and not much else, if anything....perfect amount of cheese (light) so it doesn't weigh down the pie. Fresh basil. Sopressata. It's a walk-up window, and some small seating areas outside... no dine-in option at present. I can't hold that against them. It's just where they are in their Journey so far. But I do look forward to the time that they have a dine-in area and wine to enjoy with their fabulous pizza.“

We were on our way to a comedy show at the Majestic and this was the perfect pre-show meal with no wait and no reservation required.“

“On a road trip, my daughter and I saw the pizza photos on Maps and had to try. So we drove 20 minutes out of the way for pizza and it was worth it. The crust was crispy, perfectly cooked, good sauce and right amount of cheese. She got the chicken pesto pizza and I got the meat lovers. It's more expensive, but we stop at random places all the time and Sapores Pizza is worth it.“

“First dining experience in San Antonio was right across the street from the hotel, a place called DOUGH….it’s a double entendre of sorts, the founder is a man named Doug Horn, so it’s effectively his first name plus the initial of his last……it’s also an Italian Restaurant, of which dough is a prime staple and fitting for such an establishment….Doug and wife Lori founded this business yearning for an experience to rival those of southern Italy, with the Caprese themed colors of the Italian flag - red, white, and green represented by tomato, mozzarella, and basil….I found my own inspiration in Italy, in fact, as I traveled there several times while stationed in Germany, and found the hanging sausages of the local salumerias absolutely fascinating….it reminded me of my grandparents’ garage growing up, with the European style landjager dried sausages hanging from wall to wall, an artisanship which joined my great great grandpa Wilhelm on his voyage to the New World in 1898….and at some point, it entered my mind that I wanted to bring that slice of Italy back to the United States with me, as did Doug and Lori, and re-create it on some level here in Thorndale…it took nigh a decade, but our dried sausage program is bustling, even including an Italian Caprese flavor in the lineup of over a dozen flavors we continue to perfect every week…..now, as for DOUGH, it is the real deal….the housemade mozzarella is exceptional, and the Caprese dish with ample tomatoes, big leaves of fresh basil, coarse salt and pepper, with a drizzle of olive oil and dabs of balsamic, is a meal unto itself…..then the bruschetta, with marinated cherry tomatoes, chubby cloves of sauteed garlic, and some handmade garlic-parmesan bread, there was really no need to follow up with a pizza, yet we did anyway…..and the pizza was again a rockstar, the crust is just phenomenal, the marinara sauce is not overbearing, just the right amount and it bursts with flavor, ample oregano, garlic, and basil….we couldn’t finish it all, but I assure you it made for an excellent breakfast the next morning…...it’s a bit loud and crowded, but it is the city, after all, so peace and quiet is not the norm…and it’s hard to beat that view, with the almost-full moon dancing around the lit-up Tower of the America’s…..crowded is a tell-tale sign of popularity, and speaking of busy, it’s a long weekend ahead, triple header style caterings Saturday and Sunday, but we got the full BBQ Lineup today and Saturday, doors open at 1030am….GIDDY UP....“

We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. Shortly thereafter, a saxophonist, by the name of Joel Guerrero, begin to play. The atmosphere could not have been better. The food was 5-star. The service was just as good as the music and food. I had an opportunity to meet a lady by the name of Liz, whom introduced me to the owner, Remi. He could not have been more of a gentleman. “I never really do reviews but I just needed to we moved to the area, and decided to give them a try, the atmosphere is great, the staff, very friendly and kind. The food was really good, we usually get lemon pepper wings and an all meat pizza, great the last three times we've ordered from them. We already loved tanks, but we saw on ksat yesterday that they also scored 100 on their recent inspection, so tanks is our #1 pizza joint now.“

The dressing for the ceasar salad was INSANELY good, they packaged it separately which i appreciated (no soggy salad) however, I do wish they would make the container for the dressing a little bigger as there was not enough dressing for the amount of salad (it is a $9 salad). I also would say the same for the amount of meat that the pizza has, we ordered the pepperoni and one slice had 2 tiny slices of pepperoni, the rest a few more. It would be a lot better if it had more meat. Ranch dressing is not your typical drippy ranch, but it tasted deliciously and it was unique (almost cheesy, and thicker). The Caesar dressing was also not your typical creamy, but it was delicious and I would buy a whole container of it if I could.“

“This is a partial review based on the online ordering process and delivery service along with what part of my order I did eat thus far. So, as far as rating on atmosphere I'm sure the brick and mortar restaurant is fine I just haven't been in it to review. The atmosphere in my home however is good including my dog pawing me for his share of my meal to eat. He's rather impatient at times and keeps pressing his paw onto my foot to remind me he's there.

Okay, the one factor I did not like about ordering online was when you are choosing items for your salad, pizza or other items you are not aware that these items come with an extra charge nor how much that charge is. This only shows up after you have paid for your order. So, now knowing there is a charge for tomatoes of.50 I'm not thrilled that it's 1 slice of a tomato. I know food costs and how they work so they are making a lot on 1 tomato at .50 a slice when that tomato cost to them is .30. So any toppings other then the lettuce is an upcharge.

The meal I ordered was the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken which came with a salad. I also ordered a side of mottzarlla sticks. The size of the salad was quite ample. Infact the largest dinner salad I've had in a long time. I had the honey mustard dressing which was delicious. Ricky, my dog thought so too. After eating the salad I was full but I did take a bite of the mottzarlla sticks with the red sauce and the cheese sticks were perfectly fried and the sauce was wonderful. That's all I've been able to eat for now. So my rating on the taste of their food is excellent thus far.

Packaging for delivery they also get an excellent rating and the friendliness and timely delivery they also get an excellent rating even though I live directly across the street from them. So when I eat the main dish I ordered and the other meal too I will come back and rate them. I already know one of those dishes might be too spicy but I'm hoping not. I'll have to go back and reread the ingredients to make sure I didn't miss anything. Till then ....“
