About DJay’s Soul Food

Based on the reviews, DJay’s Soul Food is a soul food spot with excellent home cooking. The food is absolutely delicious and filling, with portion sizes well worth the price. The chicken is extremely crispy, and the fried fish is the best ever tried. Specific meals like smothered chicken, meatloaf, and smothered chops are praised. Sides include collard greens, mac and cheese, yams, corn bread, mash potatoes, and greens. The strawberry cake and banana pudding are also mentioned. The service is amazing and top tier, making guests feel welcomed. The food is like somebody’s grandma made it, with love put into every bite. It is described as possibly one of the most underrated soul food spots, and the best lowkey soul food spot in Fort Worth. It has touched a part of the soul since childhood. The restaurant is a Black-owned business (BOB) that cares about the food and community. Be aware of the bells on the door. Highly recommended for anyone needing food that tastes right.

OMG, the food is amazing. I feel like I just ate at my grandma's. I had 2-smothered pork chops with 3 sides (cornbread dressing, 3 cheese mac and greens). The portions were extremely generous. Not only will I be a repeat customer, but I'm recommending they cater for a friend's upcoming family reunion. I finally found my soul food spot.

I recently ordered from D Jay's Soul Food through DoorDash and was thoroughly impressed. I had the Turkey Wings with dressing, greens, mac & cheese, and black-eyed peas with cornbread. Every dish was delicious and tasted like a home-cooked meal. The turkey wings were tender and flavorful, the greens were perfectly seasoned, and the mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy. The black-eyed peas were a great addition, and the cornbread was moist and just the right amount of sweet.

Oh my goodness, I just had the most amazing time at DJay's! The atmosphere there was electric - I could feel the energy buzzing around me. And don't even get me started on the menu - it was absolutely massive! I swear, they had every delicious soul food dish you could possibly imagine, and every single one was seasoned to perfection. Not too salty, not too bland - just right. I can't recommend DJay's enough if you're looking for some top-notch, high-quality soul food. You simply...read full review
