Somehow in all the time we have spent in Galveston over the years, we have never been to Happy Buddha. But we came down for a little staycation over New Year's, and didn't want to deal with the crowds at any of the touristy places and didn't feel like seafood. Happy Buddha popped into my head for some reason, and we thought "why not?" We figured if it was awful, then we would know for the future, and that would be it.It was the polar opposite of awful! The best Chinese food there is in Galveston County! I've tried at least 8-10 different Chinese restaurants all over Galveston County and I hv yet to even find a runner up! SERIOUSLY!!! And now they hv a new hostess, she's so sweet and genuine not to mention beautiful. But it's her attitude that's wins it with me!!!Whenever you're in Galveston be sure to stop bye and enjoy EVERYTHING from beginning to end...Tell them TRICKY sent u.

We were really hoping it was going to be great food. Lo mein is supposed to be big, fat noodles. Everything just needed more flavor - chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, and egg roll were tried. Our server tried hard, but it is a huge, divided facility so everything is just very spread out so it lacks efficiency and makes serving difficult. They were doing business, both dine in and takeout, so maybe just not to our taste.
