Delicious shrimp tacos. Much better than what you expect for Tex Mex in the burbs. They have a wonderful crispy flour tortilla and a good sauce on the shrimp.The crab empanadas were good too. But next time I'd just get shrimp tacos.It's a very suburban Texas Tex Mex place. The clientele isn't very hip. But the shrimp tacos are actually worth a try.

I recently relocated to TX and have been sampling many different restaurants. Desperado catered an event I attended and the food was decent, but I wanted to partake in the entire dining experience so I decided to treat myself to dinner for my birthday. I was a party of one and was seated immediately. The restaurant was fairly empty, and after a considerable amount of time the waitress finally came over to take my drink order, and I placed my food order.The food arrived in reasonable time, but I never saw the waitress again after she took my order. After I finished my meal I waited another 30+ mins before someone came to see if they could remove my plate, at which time I asked for a takeout container. I waited an additional 15-20 mins until someone came and just left the check. Well, it would have been nice if I was offered the dessert menu or asked if I wanted anything else. Additionally, I needed to order takeout.After more waiting I decided to go to the hostess. Being my first time there I wasn’t sure how things worked. I explained to her that the waitress never came back after taking my order, and that I wanted to add additional food to my bill. She began to retell the story in Spanish to a gentleman. I assumed he didn’t speak English because she spoke to him in Spanish. He just stood there looking at me for a moment as if he was waiting for me to say something, and then rudely asked (in English) if I was ready to order. I don’t know what that was all about. I’ve never experienced that before. The food was decent but the service was terrible. I wish I had chosen a different place for a birthday dinner. I won’t go back.

The food is awesome…..but….the flan! I’ve had flan from everywhere and they have the best friggin flan of ever!!! I sometimes think about it and smile and people wonder why I’m smiling….its because of their flan!

Poor service from the waiter when delivering the bill; they didn't ask if we wanted it or if we needed anything else, just threw the bill and got upset because it would be split when paying. The food was served cold, very poor attention
I come here for the Beef tacos but everything else is super fresh and delicious too! It was our first time ordering the Tortilla soup and I'm definitely getting it again next time - it tasted kind of similar to chicken noodle soup. If you ever visit Desperados please don't forget to order the Beef tacos; it's so fresh, crispy and the beef is so well seasoned. Also our server Maria was very kind and attentive

They put their own spin on regular dishes. Even the tres leches.... There's is a quattros leches. I do recommend it.
