La Hacienda Mexican Grill

We visited this restaurant on Main St in Gatesville. We ate in. The food was tasteless. Then we paid and left. I was looking at my bank statement and noticed we were charged 3 times for our meal. I called to speak with the manager and she came on the line. I asked her for her name and she refused to give it to me. My husband got on the line and requested her name and she refused to give him her name and she hung up on us. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Who doesn't give their name when you request it. Who charges someone 3 times for their meal? Who pocketed it?

Service was alright.

Parking lot was a little rough.

Inside the restaurant was fairly clean, very warm and a little dark.

Perfect for a breakfast after a night out on the town!

Food was fine, nothing to write home about, but it has flavor, which is a welcome change from the usual experience.

The young lady waiting on us was just attentive enough but not overbearing.
Service was a little slow, but not bad.

Salsa tasted like canned tomato with some veggies tossed in. No kick.

Coffee was fine.

Overall experience, not bad!

If these guys set up in lampasas or copperas cove, TX.
They would put the other restaurants out of business!

Now, the prices. in 2026.

EXTREMELY reasonable.

Definitely recommend if you just need a quick bite for a longer trip.
Spent $20 and some change for two people and it was plenty of food.

Will definitely be coming back if I pass through again!

I placed the order by telephone and had my husband pick it up because I had a class. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can. No kick at all! The queso had a strange flavor I could not identify. The chimichanga was ok but I’ve had much better. The tea was watered down. Probably won’t do that again.

The food was great I got the number 40 with no guacamole, the service was average we didn't really need much anyway mainly minding our own business and discussion. I like the booth style and decor and was comfy although not alot of room luckily no sat behind us because even though I'm average build I did have to scoot it, given it's not a big restaurant limited room. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing too, felt at home. The price for 2 ran a little over 40 bucks so a bit on the pricey side but worth it.

I’m not from this town, I was just working in the area and happened to be driving by when I spotted La Hacienda. It’s definitely a hole in the-wall kind of spot, but those are always the best and this one is truly amazing! The food is super authentic and packed with flavor thanks to Chef Chewy. Our waitress Lupe was so kind, attentive, and really made me feel welcome. If you’re looking for a genuine, authentic meal with great service, this is the place. Hidden gem for sure! Ohhh And they got good ice tea
