This place use to be good. Haven't been in awhile, so stopped by with the family. Ordered through drive thru a waffle meal, kids waffle, and mandi's mess. Waffle was very dense and soggy, and the mandi mess is supposed to come with bacon and sausage. There was neither, and the only thing I told her I didn't want was tomatoes and jalapenos. Very disappointed.
As much as we love and have enjoyed this place, this morning we were very disappointed. We sat for about 15 minutes while several waitresses were walking around as if they were unsure of what they were doing. With every table full, the waitresses had zero hustle as two were casually leaning against counter looking around. Based on reviews, Grandma's Kitchen Cafe is an incredible breakfast and lunch place with a down-home feeling and old country kitchen vibes. The food is wonderful, with generous portions, including options like the waffle and bacon, and Mandy's Mess. The flavored iced coffee is some of the best, with a large size that is truly large. The atmosphere features antiques and photo decor. Service is excellent, friendly, and always full of smiles. It is a great stop in Grand Saline.
