Hate to say it.....Hushpuppies wasnt very good. I dont think a sit down restaurant should serve instant mashed potatoes.
Swai is Vietnamese catfish, but not USDA CERTIFIED farm raised .
I thought new place new owners, new standards.
The original Hushpuppies was actually better.
onion rings and fried mushrooms pretty good, but the seasoning lacked salt, and the oil had a burned taste to the fry.
Mac n cheese, no flavor, not even a cheese flavor

Hushpuppies Catfish & Seafood Restaurant has mixed reviews. Some customers found the food disappointing, mentioning that it tasted processed and frozen, with issues like unseasoned onion rings and fried mushrooms, flavorless mac and cheese, and burned-tasting fried foods. One reviewer was unhappy with the quality, noting that the restaurant served instant mashed potatoes and non-U.S. farm-raised catfish, and was told the Facebook menu was not accurate. They ultimately felt the food was not good and wasted money.
In contrast, other visitors praised the restaurant for its friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious meals. Several customers enjoyed dishes like the shrimp and catfish platter, fried shrimp Po Boy, and all-you-can-eat catfish specials, highlighting that the fish was juicy, crispy, and well-seasoned. The sides, such as potatoes, greens, and okra, were described as great and light. Service was often described as helpful and friendly, with servers like Gabby and Brendan receiving special mention.
Overall, while some found the food lacking in flavor and quality, others appreciated the tasty seafood, good service, and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant seems to have a reputation for friendly staff and satisfying seafood dishes, with some variability in food quality.
