About Cipota's Restaurant Bar

The restaurant is a real and authentic Salvadoran place in Houston. The food is delicious and the vibe is mellow with relaxed music that is not too loud. The staff are attentive and the building is older but super clean. Options are many and portions are huge. Pupusas are good; revueltas and chicharron con queso are also good. The loroco pupusa has a light flavor and the chicharrón pupusa tasted more like refried beans. Tamales are thick yet lighter, made with flavorful masa and served within 10 minutes. The fajitas arrived about 20 minutes later and are better than most Tex-Mex restaurants. Tacos al pastor and camaron are excellent and the shrimp has a distinct Caribbean taste. Chips are served with a bean dip, not salsa. The only complaint is an overwhelming grease smell inside, so nice clothes or freshly washed hair may not be clean. Overall the food is great, the staff is very nice, and many recommend it may be the best in the area.
