Henke & Pillot is a welcoming venue that hosts The Poetry Lounge, a captivating spoken word event. Artists are encouraged and respected, creating a warm atmosphere for both performers and spectators. The event is perfect for a date night or a fun evening out with friends or family. While the bar downstairs may have some issues with service, the hosts and poets are excellent. The venue offers both 2pm brunch shows and 7pm performances on Sundays. Street parking is available but valet parking for $20 is an option. Located downtown, parking can be costly, but there are lots of pay-to-park parking lots nearby. The atmosphere during poetry nights is lively and positive, with talented artists and a grown and sexy crowd. Food looked good, though some guests did not eat, but the drinks can be a little pricey. Many visitors have enjoyed the vibe, the talent of poets like Laroyce Hawkins, and the overall experience, often saying they will return. The DJ and music add to the amazing atmosphere, making Henke & Pillot a great spot for lovers of spoken word and good times.
