Best sandwich shop in the area!
I managed to exit from a podiatrist appointment at the Houston VA Hospital last week and decided a deli visit somewhere was in order. I did a Google search and found that the Houston's Famous Deli was only a mile or so away. I arrived a bit before 11 a.m. and so there was no crowd at all. I took a look at their menu and decided upon a ham muffaletta. Apparently, the nice fellow at the counter read my mind because he said "ham muffaletta" after I asked how large the "half" sandwich was. It was plenty large for me. The ham consisted of seasoned ham, salami, provolone, olive dressing along with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. I decided upon a pasta salad which was delicious but more food than I needed with the muffaletta. I guess my only gripe was that the ice cup for tea was a styrofoam coffee cup. I was borderline dehydrated so I had to pay a couple of visits to the unsweetened tea urn. The sandwich was great, the service fast and attentive with some good folks behind it. The deli is in a small strip center in the shadow of NRG Stadium. Great place!

Had some great run at the MD Anderson clinic, afterwards I had a Chicken Salad Sandwich on sourdough..... it was heavenly! Highly suggest!
