Michelin level food!! Highly recommend the (off the menu) Pan Seared Red Fish!! It was so fresh, perfectly cooked, with a light crisped edge. The sauce was superb. You could taste the freshness and skill that it took to create such a fabulous dish.
This place is a hidden gem and the food is off the chain!! The owner & chef stopped by our table and told us how he prepares some of his dishes, fresh (hand prepared) daily. We had both had the pan seared red fish with shrimp and calamari.
The deserts are out of this world! The chef recommended (I forgot the name) a lemon cake with his hand crafted gelato. There are no words to describe how good this was! Everything he makes is handcrafted!
We cannot wait to go back and try more things off of the menu and when our kids come in town we’ll be back again bringing them too!!
Oh and it was my birthday, my husband didn’t request anything, but they were so attentive, they brought my dessert with a birthday candle and happy birthday wishes!! Bravo to the Chef and the wait staff! Keep up the excellent work!

Tonight was our first time at Magdalena’s Trattoria, and we were highly impressed! This is definitely one of the few places that serve authentic Italian food. My husband got pizza, and I had the chicken cacciatore. Both were delicious and full of flavor. The pizza crust was light and crisp, just like the ones we had in Italy. The pasta was fresh and made in—house. We had the tiramisu, pistachio gelato, biscotti, chocolate truffles, and hazelnut gelato for dessert. The gelatos were made from fresh ground nuts this morning. We were amazed that they use hazelnuts from Italy to make the hazelnut gelato, considering how expensive those nuts are. Everything that we had were delicious. We could really tell that fresh ingredients were used. The wine list is short but well-curated. We loved how we didn’t have to flip through pages of wine list with small print that we could barely read.
Chef Nicolas took his time to check up on us and let us know more about his menu and his restaurant. It is evident that he takes great pride in his restaurant and ensures that his patrons are pleased and well taken care of. He makes you feel like you’re in a trattoria in Italy, where the owner interacts with customers to make them feel at home.
This place is a gem! This is one of those few places where we felt highly satisfied with the whole experience. Although we live an hour away, we will fight through traffic to come back and eat here.

Based on my only experience at Magdalena’s tonight I leave with a 3 star experience.
I base this on the following:
Front of house: unaccommodating and borderline apathetic. I had a party of 5 (including my special needs sister) they had a round table ready in a tight corner set very close to a booth and by an emergency exit, I asked to be seated at the opposite corner table which was better positioned. Front of house matter of fact my said “that one is set for 6”. So no, they did not. I imagine moving the extra table setting and making it around table for 5 was too hard. Rude.
Our actual waiter tried to give us options unlike the front of house which was lazy and honestly, gave no explanation or options. The waiter was the only person I can say was very nice and professional.
Food: we only had the pasta. Most pasta dishes were good, the ravioli were amazing, the bolognese was good, the Parpaddelle with chicken cacciatore was fresh tasting. The Pasta Carbonara (they properly use egg), had a fishy understate that two people in my party could taste, it was honestly mediocre. I can make an equally authentic carbonara sauce that tastes better (minus the homemade pasta). The Fishy taste was off putting. I left personally hungry. The Brussel sprouts with pancetta were undercooked, I wished they had been charred or cooked more throughly, the “al dente” did not work for me.
Overall good value and fine atmosphere, but for a first experience the rudeness of front of house as enough for me to never go back and to avoid recommending.
The pizza looked tasty, I do regret that our party did not try that.

The food was delicious! The Margarita pizza was definitely made from scratch and was delicious. The pasta was also very good the sauce and seafood going really well together. The tiramisu was not so sweet which is what I personally prefer and it was enjoyable, the service was very fast and efficient and the atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend going to if you’re looking for an amazing Italian restaurant in the area.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner/late Valentines celebration in the enclosed outdoor area. Quiet, great food, outstanding service. We had the arugula salad (delicious!) and shared the veal Osso buco.,great wine selection and tiramisu topped off the meal! Marvelous!
Our dinner was delicious!! A highlight was the Fritto Misto seafood platter that we split as an appetizer.
