Ye's Ichiban Steakhouse and Sushi

Highly recommend this place. Atmosphere is great, food is to die for, and the staff are extremely friendly. First time visiting here, but it definitely won’t be the last. My wife and I shared the shaggy dog sushi roll and the filet mignon/scallop hibachi. Perfect amount of food.

We come here ALL THE TIME. This is our favorite Japanese resturant. Though they no longer have the hibachi area open, they still serve the food off the menu for hibachi. This place is phenomenal. Everytime we go, we always try something different off the menu and so far, nothing has disappointed us.

After reading many reviews I decided to give this place a go.

I was greeted when I walked in and noticed the great decour of the restaurant but then I heard the music. It's not bad music just different from what I expected.

I ordered a Rainbow Roll and was disappointed in the way it looked pieced together. I'm not sure who was preparing this, but they need to see how HEB does their Rainbow Roll. The fish tasted great, but again the presentation.....usually a rainbow roll doesnt just have a piece of fish placed on it.

The prices are right along the same price point as others on this side of town, but food just so-so. Maybe the hibachi and other items are great , but I won't be going back for sushi.

Another reviewer had mentioned the gnats, which I know have been bad this year no matter how clean your kitchen is, but it still surprised me to see one as soon as my food was brought.

The service was great. The food, not so much.

Our waitress was very kind and friendly, checked on our table at reasonable intervals, etc.

But the food is just....not good. It isn't so awful to make us send anything back, but it feels like the cooks are afraid to season anything. We had to actually ask for a bowl of spices to add to the food. They're quite proud of their menu, and I don't believe the quality/flavor of their food matches the price point.

As far as the atmosphere goes, it was a little odd. The restaurant seems clean, but we've never seen seafood boxes that were so foggy from condensation that you genuinely can't see the fish. The music choice was odd. It might be personal preference, but I don't agree that this cuisine is enjoyed well with new/bro country playing.

- Notice how I said "food". As in, in general. All of it needed more spice/flavor. Not just the 1 of 5 items we ordered.
- If you're reading my reviews, you might also notice I leave more positive reviews than negative ones.

You should be adding more spices to the food and not your responses to honest reviews.
