“My family and I have went many times. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All of the food has always been delicious despite me being a brat for only wanting good food. The staff is great and the women are caring especially with the littles. Food never takes too long and always meets or exceeds expectations. Always clean and the restrooms are never nasty. “They are the best tamales in town. I was just there earlier today and the young woman behind the counter is always so friendly. The salsa is delicious and they usually have fresh baked pan de polvo on the counter enticing you to balance the savory tamales with something yummy and sweet. My cat also enjoys the little bits of tamales I share with her, and she is a very finicky eater. One of the people in our party had a question and he tried to just ask an employee who did not understand, but rather than get our waitress, she just went about her business. Not a huge deal, but kept the service from getting 5 stars.“

I had the beef enchiladas and they were fantastic! My wife had the mango margarita which was wonderful. We really are fortunate to have this gem right here in Portland, Texas. “Concerning someone’s review about enchiladas burning a styrofoam container:
1) this is great food, I’ve eaten here plenty of times, I’m hung over and about to run to this place to grab some tacos
2) unless you have never ordered enchiladas to-go or delivered I could understand this being an issue, or if you were drunk and wrote the review because you were bummed about the situation….i cannot let this review go unanswered as it’s the year 2025, and anyone who is posting restaurant reviews has enough food experience to know that if you are ordering hot Mexican food, especially enchiladas, to-go and don’t like how affordable food is packed in styrofoam, don’t do it - eat in the restaurant or request a metal container.“

“The girl serving us had an attitude and the other worker who was checking the temperature of the foods on display was taking the temperature and not wiping the thermometer after each dip. I'm taking culinary arts and this is one of the first things we learned to do in my safety and sanitation class. I didn't get sick afterwards tho so I'm not complaining, just making whoever is in charge of this aware of what happened. We chose this location bc the one in Corpus Christi is always packed. I wanted the asada but there was barely any and it looked very dry. We would go back to this location again tho, just because of how fast service was. I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was realllyyy good. The barbacoa.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing — you can really taste the difference with their handmade tortillas, fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the mug as plate and it was delicious, perfectly balanced and so satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a great vibe all around, and the servers were so friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. They were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation for around 35 people, and when we arrived the area was already cleared and prepared for us with staff on standby ready to assist. The food was absolutely amazing, and the customer service was top-notch—patient, courteous, and so attentive. I am beyond grateful for the wonderful service and experience we had celebrating such a special day. Thank you all for doing such an amazing job! Highly recommend!“

“My family ordered food for dinner takeout with friendly but rushed service. We did go at the end of night, close to closing. The place looked clean.

Daughter had enchiladas. She liked the meal with her only complaint it was too flavored with spices. She's 12 so take her spices rating with a grain of salt. 😆 My husband had the quesadillas with chicken and fajita. He said it was alright, not the best he's had but good. His only complaint was the flour tortillas were a little gummy on some of the edges. I had the chicken flautas. They were crunchy and flavored like home seasoning. I was pleasantly surprised with my 1st bite how moist the chicken was despite the frying. All entrees came with beans & rice. My daughter & husband really liked the beans bc of a smoky flavor only homemade beans have. Horchata is really good.
