Market Eatery Reviews
Not really authentic nor very tasty. I guess it’s good for Americans.
Highly recommended! The food is amazing, the costumer service is spectacular, and the place is beautiful and unique! My favorites are too many! Start with roti (to die for). Then hainanese chicken, mango chicken, and Malaysian fried rice are my favorites! Please bring some desserts!!!!
We went in on the third day they were open and it was fantastic! Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. It also came out quickly for how busy they were. Hung out at the bar waiting for our table and had the Malaysian Sling, and it was AMAZING! Josh was a fantastic server and gave us advice on portions and made great recommendations. He even chased my husband outside after he forgot his sunglasses on the table. Every staff member from hostess, bartenders, servers, etc. were great!...read full review

Market Eatery is a Malaysian restaurant situated within one of the many strip malls in Katy. The modern building features a cozy dining area divided into smaller sections. The service is described as friendly and prompt, although basic, with no effort to clean the table between courses. The menu presents a selection of interesting cocktails and juices, along with a nice variety of dishes.
Guests highly recommend starting with the Roti, an Indian flatbread served with a delicious curry chicken dip. The Hainanese Chicken and Mango Chicken are also favorites, alongside the Malaysian Fried Rice. The Kerabu Prawns, which are skewered large prawns with pickled papaya, mango, peanuts, and toasted sesame, have received praise as well. The Salt and Pepper Calamari are crisp, flavorful, and slightly crunchy, while the Mango Chicken, featuring fresh mango, bell pepper, and onions in a light sauce, is a popular choice. The Beef Rendang, served with a coconut curry and chunks of potato, brings a unique twist reminiscent of Hungarian Goulash with the addition of coconut. The Beef Hor Fun is savory but less memorable compared to the other dishes.
The eatery is located within the H Mart grocery store, which may become congested, making the dining area feel a bit cramped. However, the overall experience remains enjoyable, highlighted by flavorful food and generous portions. The H Mart itself is an Asian grocery store with a large variety of products, including unique vegetables and fruits, halal noodles, teas, kimchi, and even kitchen gadgets. The store is clean, well-lit, and features friendly staff, making it an inviting place to visit.
