Caribbean Restaurants near Kemah

“I really enjoy going to a Mexican restaurant that has more options than the usual stuff.If you are ever in Kemah or in that area, I would highly recommend the spot.Last year, when I went on a cruise, I stayed at the hotel next door and tried this restaurant because they had vegetarian options and I happen to be a vegetarian.I was not disappointed in the least and that's why I made sure to stay at the same hotel this year so I could walk over in the morning and get some tacos before going on the cruise.Not a very big place but the food is awesome.“

“Our dinner here was excellent. We were able to get a seat right away. I enjoyed the music and atmosphere. I had the jerk chicken, plantains and greens. The jerk chicken was not too spicy and a nice portion. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The greens weren’t your typical greens. They were very flavorful and had pieces of red pepper which gave it a nice taste. The plantains were so good! My husband had the grilled snapper. The snapper was plated beautifully and tasted excellent. The assortment of Caribbean juices was also really fun to try. The Sorrel juice was my favorite, an absolute must. I was impressed with how healthy everything was. The restaurant was also very clean. We will definitely be regulars here.“

“We visited early April while staying near the Space Center. On a Saturday evening around 7pm, we were surprised to see only a couple of other tables occupied. This may be due to the location of the restaurant just off the highway in a partially abandoned strip mall. We were greeted warmly upon entrance and ordered our dinner at the recommendation of the cashier. The dining area was colorfully decorated which helped with forgetting the rundown exterior environment. The pot of stewing frijoles charros that diners can help themselves to is a nice touch. We ordered tacos, enchiladas, and guacamole with chips. Everything was tasty and the cochinita pibil tacos in particular made for a very enjoyable meal. Coming from New York, we found the prices reasonable and the portions generous. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Hopefully this taqueria can market more to those that are visiting the NASA tourist site as there don't seem to be many quality eateries in the area.“
