This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I will be back! I was driving down Veterans and I could smell an aroma of a BBQ pitt just like I used to smell during my childhood. I knew it wasn't McDonald's so I drove to the Taqueria place to find out if they BBQ anything and they said no. Once I hit the parking lot, I was in food heaven! I tried the lunch special, choosing the jerk chicken yellow rice cabbage and a Pepsi product drink or water is included too. I sat and ate and enjoyed the mucis playing and I was so full. The jerk chicken is not overly spicy but it tingles in your mouth from the moist meat and savory flavor. I will be going back because I saw on their menu that they have Soursop juice and Pineapple Ginger juice! I'm so excited but go and try it for yourself!

Ever since Ava’s closed down I’ve been coming here and I can’t complain. The jerk pork and chicken are very flavorful and aren’t dried out. Rice and peas are always soft and always fresh no matter the time of day. The only complaint is that they close at 7 and they don’t have a location in Austin!

Very friendly staff. I had oxtails with curry goat, rice and peas, streamed cabbage and plantains! Very good meal! Loved the curry goat! The meat was very tender! The oxtails were good too but I like the curry goat better! My son had the jerk chicken and Mac and cheese! I tasted some of his food . It was good too! Loved the Mac and cheese! I will be going back to this place in the future! And ordering online for takeout and/or delivery! This place is a must try! So if you like Jamaican food, please go try this place! If you go there, tell them Shipman sent you to try out the food!!! 💕💕💕

If I could give no stars I would. This has got to be the worst Jamaican food in the area. Very much so overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food provided. Nothing has any authentic flavor. The guy at the counter acts as if you’re wrong for having an issue with your food and comes off rude and arrogant. Thankfully there are women there who actually knows how to converse with customers. So let’s get into it. The jerk chicken was just hot, no seasoning of flavor, the rice was overcooked and the cabbage has no seasoning but a whole lot of what appears to be parsley flakes cooked in it. The curry chicken along with the curry goat was very bland and the gravy was loose. The oxtail gravy was loose and very oily. Taste more like pot roast gravy. Let’s not even get on the so called Mac and cheese which was dry and no taste. Just noodles and cheese. Even after trying to dress this food up with our own hands at home it was still undesirable. What they considered a large is definitely a small in comparison to any other place. If you value your dollar don’t even waste your time nor money. A waste of $60. I’ll stick to 1 Luv.
My second review in a short time.. as I kid growing up back home the soursop fruit tree was in my backyard and it was one of my favorite fruit. I used to pick it off the tree 🎄 when it's ripe and eat it just like that without any juicing it. Now I'm here for more than 14 years and never get the chance to have this fruit again much less the juice.. the first time I had this juice it was really good and it tastes like those soursop back home. Thumbs 👍👍🙏
