We spent $87 on takeout, and none of us could eat our food. The food tastes awful. Cheeseburger, fish sandwich, fish platter, Philly, and gumbo. The only thing good was the fries. It all went in the trash. Never again..will go to Jasper from now on. We were trying to support our locals
Went in today Cajun Joe’s today and ate the most delicious new Burger they were offering! Jalapeño mushroom patty on a jalapeño cheddar bun with a special sauce! It was amazing! I dubbed it the Voodoo Burger!
Highly recommended if you are driving through or visiting Newton, TX to stop by and get some great food!

Cajun Joe's is an old restaurant in a less than reputable neighborhood with an old fashion style building that could use a little work, though some would say the dated interior has a charm to it. The man running the joint is incredibly nice, down to earth, and super helpful with questions or substitutions. The food is hot and fresh made to order, with an open kitchen so customers can watch the order being prepared. The drive-thru is a nice touch. Specific meals include a Philly cheesesteak, a jalapeño double double burger, a spicy fried chicken sandwich, perfectly seasoned crinkle cut fries with a side of bbq & hot sauce, and a new burger called the Voodoo Burger, which is a jalapeño mushroom patty on a jalapeño cheddar bun with a special sauce.
