“Found this gem! I saw a few interesting menu items while searching for restaurants in Laredo.I was greeted by friendly and accommodating staff and decided to sit at the bar since I was dining alone. The manager, Mauricio, asked if I had dined with them before. I said no and he explained some of the restaurant's concepts.I started with the appetizer that caught my attention from the website - Veracruzana Style Fresh Sea Bass Ceviche and also ordered The Baja Style Lobster Taco. The ceviche was a very generous portion of Sea Bass served with avocado and tostados. It came with a spoon which you will definitely want to use to capture every savory bite. The Lobster Taco was overflowing with lobster chunks, saffron rice, black beans, avocado and creamy chipotle plus a spicy tart salsa to top it off.The craftsman bartender, Miguel, was hard at work making fantastic beverages. I had the Smokey Guava -mezcal, guava nectar, lime & grapefruit juice, agave nectar & chia. It was exquisite! All of their juices are fresh squeezed...My entree was the Homemade Mole Poblano - smothered shredded chicken in the best mole that I have had since visiting deep interior Mexico decades ago. I have been searching for great mole ever since and they have all fallen short until now. ? Served with almond rice - almond slices not slivers.Overall the service and the food were perfect. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. Vegetarian options are available as well. The casual atmosphere is a welcome change for a fine dining experience!“
“I went with a large group (12) and the service was still great. Plenty of staff on hand to assist in every way. The food was pretty good. It is a bit pricey at 17 to 19 dollars for most plates. The rice was a little dry, and the sauces were all jammed into a little holder. I am not sure there was even any vinegar or eel sauce, but there were plenty of hot sauce. Total bill was 25 for my plate and an iced tea.Wheelchair accessibility: A big step up with 1.5 foot strip of grass. There may be a way up if you go around.“
“Bar Nido is the perfect spot for a night out with friends or family. The seasonal cocktails are devine - my friend would not stop raving about the "apple bottom jeans" drink. Also, the owner, Jaime, is one of the friendliest and most welcoming people I have ever met. I would highly recommend Bar Nido and I cannot wait to go back.“
“I was looking for a good place to get a good cocktail and old fashion on google because I am from out of town. The place was packed with beautiful people. great spot to people watch. The drinks were on point. This place gets very busy but the drinks are worth the wait.“
“One of the best restaurants in Laredo, TX. Very rich dishes. For starters, I recommend the brisket empanadas, and for the main course, the Tomahawk! Perhaps the only thing to improve are the margaritas, which I didn't find anything special. Very good service!“
