I’ve heard great things about their hospitality but I was pleasantly disappointed when I walked in and the shop dog, Chicken, didn’t get out of his bed to greet me. Not only that but he kept giving me dirty looks. I’d recommend going to another place if you wanted to be greeted with kindness.

All my friends go here and I hate it, no privacy in Lockhart.

I love driving out to Lockhart for a different night out from Austin. Even a daytime adventure. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Just go and experience it for yourself and you’ll understand. Then you’ll find yourself wanting to get on here and do the same dang thing I’m doing right now. The owner is just awesome and very welcoming. Food is fabulous. Not what I’d expect to experience in a small Texas town but that and the square is a great hang.

I pity the fool that don’t like Best Little! They have wine by the glass AND by the bottle, beer and NA options, the best patio in Lockhart, poke bowls, Kaye Gwyn and Mel, Chicken Hawkins and his constant side eye, 2 bunnies, a cute pink door for your instagramming needs, Joe Carter Smooth Blues on Wednesdays, all kinds of other theme nights and the by far the most excellent Oktoberfest in town. They have southern hospitality out the wazoo. They support other local businesses. They stay involved in the community. They raise funds for non-profits. And frankly, a glass of wine on the patio and petting Chicken is worth 5 stars on its own. 12 out of 10 if you know what’s good for you! ?

If I could give 10 stars I would!! I absolutely adore this place. It has a great vibe with the best eclectic patrons. The food is amazing. The music is just perfect. There is a fantastic selection of wine and sake. I always find a great book to purchase. Kaye is super knowledgeable about wine. This place will definitely not disappoint.

The friendliest little place around! Kaye (the owner, operator, and sommelier) knows her stuff and is the utmost host! Gwyn and Mel are amazing as well. Be sure to ask for recommendations if you don’t know what you like. They will steer you right. There are also great craft beer and sake options. Poké in the Rear is a poké restaurant in the back of the wine shop serving up great food. You are sure to make a friend or more while visiting!
