Excellent casual BBQ Place with quick and friendly service. The beef is amazingly tender and the boudine and mac'n'cheese is excellent. The BBQ sauce is just right, not too sweet or too tangy.
Me and my husband absolutely love BBQ. We used to work at a local BBQ restaurant in Gilmer but sadly that place has shut down, so we are always looking for good BBQ. Boxcar exceeded our expectations. We were expecting food to be high (since it is BBQ and meat isn’t cheap) but it actually wasn’t very high at all. Have visited Boxcar BBQ several times. Generally have the sliced brisket and boudin. Brisket has always been moist and tender and seasoned perfectly; boudin is always fresh and flavorful. It's a no frills place with outstanding food. I enjoyed it immensely. I'll be back.
