“I’ve traveled all over Texas tasting BBQ, it’s my hobby! I highly recommend Boxcar BBQ in Longview on Gilmer road. My wife and I each had three meat plates, mine was. Brisket, Ribs, and Boudin, with Mac and cheese and potato salad, the wife had the same meats with coleslaw and the baked potato salad. The ribs were outstanding, we both agreed on that, the brisket was good, although with just a hint of salt added the flavor exploded, the boudin was good and not too spicy from my wife’s viewpoint. All the sides were very good which was a little surprising because a lot of BBQ joints are lacking in that category. Good environment in the restaurant and a steady flow of customers confirmed our opinion that this was a great choice for lunch. We’ll be back!“

As well as their green sauce that you can’t get everywhere else, have had a few poor service experiences but the food has never disappointed. If you go, gotta try their Melon drink as well.“

“Dropped in for lunch and tried out the hamburger steak meal. It was very tasty and the caramelized onions were plentiful and tender. No crunch. Perfect. Fries were fresh and awesome. Texas toast, garden fresh salad and a drink rounded out the meal. All for a very fair price. A little early for Christmas music but nice friendly place to eat. Will definitely repeat.“

“I had a to-go order and everything was very good! The vegetables were nice and crispy in the beef dish and it had just the right amount of the juice in there. The soup had a lot of egg in it and the egg rolls were very good.“

“Haven’t been since before Covid, still a great place for kids, pizza was delicious just like before, most of the staff was very nice (had a run in with an employee who was not having a good day) but we were a bit disappointed with some of the games. The games need to be upgraded and/or fixed… a good amount of them were messed up which was disappointing. Still the kids had a blast and that’s what this place is for… the kids!“

“I’m not sure why people are saying this is expensive or bland. Everything was very flavorful and the prices were great especially for the amount of food delivered. Good seafood is not cheap but this is by far on the low end of the price range and it all tasted great. Whenever I return to the area I’ll definitely be returning.“

“I've been there several times and it's always good. I was a little disappointed this last time. They were out of CO2 so all the draft beer were flat. Their great ever changing beer selection is part of the Rotolos experience. The food and service were still great!“
