Stopped in to Taqueria 287 this morning for breakfast. The service was excellent, the food came out quick and the most important part it was delicious.
The BEST taco place in Ellis County. Fact. We moved from California and have been searching for authentic Mexican food and this place does not disappoint. Baja style incredible Mexican food! The salsas the carne asada 🔥

Taqueria 287 offers delicious and authentic Mexican food, with a focus on spicy and flavorful dishes like shrimp tacos and burritos. Despite its shabby exterior, the restaurant keeps its restroom clean and serves hot and tasty meals, including vegan options and mouthwatering elotes. The casual dining spot also provides a nice outdoor patio for families to enjoy, with outdoor tables available but no indoor seating. Customers note that the food often takes a little time to prepare, which is understandable since it is made fresh, and the meals are hot and homemade. The barbacoa and al pastor tacos are considered pretty good, though some find the carne asada a bit disappointing. The shrimp tacos are cooked just right, and the shrimp portions are generous. The barbacoa quesadilla features tender, flavorful meat, and the shrimp burrito is highly praised. Salsas have the right amount of heat, and the guacamole is fresh. Recently, many customers have suggested that the restaurant should have a dine-in area so they can sit inside and enjoy their food comfortably, regardless of the weather. The tacos and breakfast burritos remain favorites, always fully loaded and satisfying. While the selection of taco meats is limited to beef, chicken, barbacoa, and pastor, the quality remains high. The outdoor seating is still the only option, but the staff, including the chef, continues to be friendly and welcoming. Taqueria 287 has become a popular spot for Taco Tuesdays, known for top-notch food and a warm, family-like atmosphere. It remains one of the best places in town to enjoy street-style tacos and delicious Mexican cuisine.
