“For years, we’ve driven through Three Rivers on our way to and from Austin, and my wife has always said, “We need to stop at The Staghorn someday.” We finally made it happen!
They offer a different buffet every day of the week, and we happened to visit on Thursday—enchilada day. The buffet includes a fresh salad, and the enchiladas, rice, and beans were all excellent. It was so good that we’ll definitely be back—though next time I’m trying the fried catfish on Friday!
The service was wonderfully friendly and attentive. They kept our tea glasses full the entire time. Highly recommend!”

“Menudo, hands down the best I've had in awhile. A mouthful of authentic flavor in every bite. Nice ratio of tripe and hominy. The garnishes of cilantro, onion, lemon and chili flakes add onto the overall flavor. Very pleased!!”

Visited on 3/28/26. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The wait time was about 7 minutes, which was reasonable. The fries could have used a bit more salt, but that’s an easy fix since you can season them to your own taste.

What really makes this place stand out is the convenient truck/RV parking located in the back, which is a big plus for travelers. @memerios1020”
