“First time experience here was amazing! The staff was so patient with us and went out of their way to give us all the options and recommendations. Can't go wrong with the brisket sandwich with the sauces. The cilantro lime drizzle just elevated the sandwich to another level. Tender, juicy brisket and a twist to all their sides. “This place is your classic hole in the wall. Located north of Brownsville in Alito, Texas on the side of the highway. It has been in the owners family for about 100 years. However, it started as a post office a bus stop and a general store. Now it is a chill spot to get good food with friends and have a variety of cold craft beers. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re a local or passing through. It is one several awards for their culinary offerings as well. It’s not your typical burger. For this visit, I had the turkey burger. As you can see in my picture. Along with onion rings and a full set up. Very tasty. Definitely come in and check out the flying peg the next time you’re in the area.”

La Guera’s ceviche is a shredded style, a bit on the limier side, very clean white fish, but seemed to have a little flavor. She serves it with fresh avocado, homemade tortilla chips, and crackers. It tasted fine, but lacked the texture of solid fish that I prefer.The $12 shrimp cocktail is very good! Even the small is plenty of food. Medium size jumps up to $20! Small is all you need! Great, spicey flavor with just enough cilantro and citrus. I’m a fan!Our micheladas were great! Very good flavor and served with several bonus shrimp!”

“It was my first time there and I wasn't sure on what to expect. It was actually pretty nice. There are two pool tables and some video games that reminded me of the 1980s. They also have a fairly large amount of ice-cream options. There is a menu written on a chalkboard on a wall. There are several food options also. It is a great place for a small birthday party for children.Kid-friendliness: There were several children there and they were all running around having a lot of fun.”

“Danny is the owner/cook and Steve was the cashier. They were very polite and kind. Took the time to tell me about the food. The fish tacos are amazing, especially with the creamy Cajun sauce. The cucumber lemonade was also very delicious. Not too strong, but just enough flavor. I would absolutely return here. They even have a drive-thru or can bring the food out to you if you can't leave your car. Oh it was also very fast. Like less than 5 minutes.”

“Spacefish - what a name. The food is very good. If you like fish, I would recommend the ceviche tostadas, and if you don’t, the pork chop is very nice. Ask for the tortillas you won’t regret it. They have unique pizzas (just be aware they are wood-fired and have crust typical of that style). I've had the scampi pizza (made with actual gulf shrimp!) and the chorizo pizza and both were delicious. We've also had the Meat and Cheese plate (very generously sized) and Grandma's Meatballs (not as generously sized) for appetizers. The cheesecake for dessert was also good.Each time, the server suggested a good wine pairing with the food. This is a plus, and I thought the suggestions worked out pretty well.If you're in downtown Brownsville, or in the RGV in general, I would seek this place out.”
