Based on the reviews, The Farmhouse Kitchen is a great country restaurant a little off the beaten track, surrounded by grass fields. The setting is peaceful and the drive is breathtaking. The restaurant serves authentic American food that is fresh, reach in flavor, and tasty. The food is prepared with care. Specific meals mentioned include the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast, which is excellent, and the pancakes, which are good but small. For lunch or supper, the hand battered fried pickles and onion rings are perfect. The chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak are big pieces of meat breaded nicely with amazing homemade gravy. The pimento cheese burger was the best burger in a long time. The fries are starch coated to make them crunchy. The mashed potatoes are great. The Mac & cheese was plain and flavorless. Service is exceptional and the staff is fantastic. The place is warm and cozy. Coffee is hot and tea is cold with free refills. The food can take a little bit to cook, but good things come to those with patience. The driveway and parking are dirt and can get muddy on wet days. The Christian atmosphere is a big plus.
