Hole in the wall with great Cajun food. Husband and wife owners that are very friendly. Look forward to coming back and trying something different.

Based on the reviews, Scales Cafe- Elgin serves really good food that comes out hot with a homemade feel. The portions are solid, worth the money, and fill a person up. The catfish basket is a specific good-looking meal mentioned. The waitress and staff are nice, friendly, and professional, keeping everything moving. The owners are wonderful, sweet people who came out for a birthday and gave free dessert. The atmosphere is a nice chill vibe, though some feel it is too bright and cold looking and could be warmer with greenery and table cloths. The restaurant also turns into a karaoke family friendly show every other Saturday night.
