“Hands down the best African dining experience I’ve ever had!
From the moment we walked in, the warmth hit us like a Lagos breeze. The lady that received us was so kind and helped us with our order, explaining every dish. The owner (I’m assuming the legendary Chef Temii herself) greeted us with the biggest smile and treated us like family returning home after years away. That level of genuine hospitality is rare these days.
Now, the food… oh my goodness. Where do I even start?
• The jollof rice is straight-up sorcery: smoky, perfectly spiced, with that irresistible bottom crust (pot of gold). I could eat buckets of it.
• Egusi soup with pounded yam? Life-changing. Rich, nutty, packed with flavor, and the pounded yam was silky-smooth, like it was made by angels.
• We also tried the puff-puff for dessert and they came out piping hot, fluffy inside, crisp outside, dusted with just the right amount of sugar. I almost ordered a second plate to take home.
Portions are incredibly generous, everything tastes fresh and homemade, and you can feel the love in every bite.
If you’ve never had West African food before, this is the place to start. If you grew up on it, this will transport you straight back to Mama’s kitchen (maybe even better). Chef Temii is a treasure, the staff are absolute sweethearts, and the vibes are immaculate.
I’m already planning my next visit… and the one after that. Run, don’t walk!

“Finally made the trip to try Meat Candy BbQ and oh boy was it worth it. The brisket had my head spinning in delicious land. Incredibly tender, perfect crust and seasoning, and a perfect amount of fat. The bourbon maple pork belly burnt ends just made this trip next level.“

“Teresa' and her team did an outstanding job servicing my daughter's wedding in Forth Worth last weekend. We arranged for the caterer, the beverages, many other services to do the wedding and Teresa's team took over and coordinated everything with great professionalism and a smile. Her servers and bartenders were friendly and attentive and went the extra mile to see that our 180 guests were well taken care of. Above and Beyond! I will use Teresa again and highly recommend her and her team.“
