These Burgers are better than McDonald's, I think, but I'm not sure because I would only eat a McDonald's burger if I were in some kind of survival mode. Yuck!And whatever you do don't ever ever ever get the nachos. Unless you need to get sick. Made with cheap corn chips and Hormell Can Chili. Yuck!?There are no healthy choices at this place.The waitstaff is awesome!

One of the best tasting cheese burgers i have had in a long time. Place is chill, kinda hidden. The burgers were amazing, fries were crispy. Prices were very fair.

Good music. Clean place. I ordered the hippo blt burger and it only came with one slice of tomato. Lol. Also ordered a chicken sandwich and wanted onion rings instead of fries and instead of an uncharge they charged individually for everything on that meal. Food was alright though.

The burger was charred. Burnt taste was not good. Also this gigantic inch and half slice of unripe tomato.

I've heard about this place but never tried it until a few days ago.I enjoy the large selection that they have but the meat patty was a bit bland. These burgers and the sides are large portions.I would probably try this place again.

First time customers and definitely will be back! Ordered online and burgers are outstanding! Fries and onion rings are awesome as well! I never knew they were back off Crenshaw near Nothing Bundt and Popeyes....thanks Yelp for including bc these guys totally deserve 5 stars!

First time we came it was amazing and everything was perfect. Today not so much. I would ask for manager but the girl already told me there's not one here today. I ordered the egg burger and it was not good. The egg was way over cooked and it definitely was not the way I would've liked. The cheese "sauce" is bland and fell way short. The last burger I got was perfect but this one I'll definitely avoid in the future.

Nice fresh hamburgers and side every time I've visited the Pasadena location very friendly and helpful staff to help with your tastebuds every desire, they will not disappoint you if the do that will make it right till your happy

Let me start by saying I LOVE burgers!!! I consider myself a burger aficionado as you see in all my previous YELP postings. I am in this part of town probably once a month and I try to visit different restaurants when I can. I found Hippo Burgers on YELP and was very excited to visit. I mean Angus beef burgers!!! How can you go wrong?? Well they did. Reading other posts that state that these are great tasty burgers compared to McDonald's says it all. A comparison is a very low bar. My order was the combo platter which included fries and a drink. My expectation is for a burger to be juicy to the level of it being runny and sometimes messy. I found this burger to be overdone and not one drop of juiciness. NOT ONE DROP!! I ordered it with bacon and jalapenos. The burger had no flavor it was meh. Not even the Jalapenos, no heat at all. The cool part is that they had 2 different ketchups: normal and a Jalapeno one. The Jalapeno ketchup was tasty. Plenty of bacon. The fries were hot and crispy but some were simply blacken chips. The restaurant was super clean. They had a man immediately wipe down the tables once you were finish. I was there at lunch time, 12:30?, on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was pretty empty. 1 table was filled fellow workers and maybe 2 others that had solo clients. To me not a good sign especially when the next door restaurants were full and a constant flow of customers. The price was quite low! The staff were very friendly but I walked very disappointed.
