We've selected Pecos' finest Mexican eateries for you.
“I have been to Famosos multiple times; having tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and hamburgers. It is obvious why they were voted best burritos in Pecos 2023.For the more "American" food, the Famosos Burger is more than I can eat in a single meal.“
“My favorite Mexican restaurant that has inspired me to learn to cook several dishes from Tacos de Alambre to Asado. This place gets it right from the very start. The chips and salsa, guacamole, and queso are must orders. The salsa is hot but it will still have you coming back for more. It isn't open late but if you're patient at lunch you'll find yourself a gem and a new favorite in Pecos Texas. I usually order "Taquitos de Alambre" or "The Supreme plate." This time I ordered Tacos de Alambre and it was fantastic. Cocina Salgado is must try if passing through for lunch during the week. It will have you missing it's authenticity when you're at your hometown Mexican restaurant.“
“The best Quesabirria in town!! They have great customer service. Accept cash only. Added on Nopales, grilled jalapeño, and pineapple salsa. Both green and red sauce is amazing! Red hot Green mild. The consome is delicious. Thank you for serving delicious food! Many Blessings to Taqueria Dos Hermanos!“
“OVERALL The in-house made tamales from La Nortena Tamale Factory in Pecos, TX, are divine! I also recommend that you try some of their outsourced salsas. RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING This place gets busy, but there is free side street parking all around the large building. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The building looks like an old warehouse, but "La Nortena" is visible from both 3rd Street and US Highway 285. The line was practically out the door on 1/14/2024 when I arrived at around 11:45AM. It's a bit of a tight squeeze when there is a line plus it's hard to figure out who is waiting for an order and who needs to place one because... well, honestly some folks are just oblivious or plain rude. THE GRUB + spicy red chile pork tamales (1 dozen = $19.10)... there were so delicious... my friends have made some amazing tamales for me. These are way up there with the best homemade ones I've eaten. + Salsa de Chile de Arbol ($7.52 including tax) - so damn good but spicy as hell... I couldn't stop eating it with my tamales and tortilla chips at home. + they have a variety of beverages also... I got a water and a tall Mexican Coke. My online order was canceled because they were out of the 10-count vacuum-packed Hatch chile and asadero "rajas" tamales ($17). The owner/manager gave me the drinks for free because he was unable to cancel the other order. What I ended up purchasing was approximately the same price. + They offer a variety of snacks and desserts. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB There are no kid's items. SERVICE ¡Muy excellente! I interacted with 4 employees -- all super friendly and working quickly. MY FAVORITE PART... The tamales! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait to order. TIPS + This is a takeout restaurant only. No dining room is available. + I recommend placing orders probably at least a day in advance so they have what you want in stock. + A second location is in Odessa.“
“It's not a restaurant. No waitress, you walk up , order and get a ticket. Then go pay at cashier. After a little waiting, they bring your order. Oh the coffee, you get up and get it yourself. The food was surprisingly delicious, and the ended up getting a tasty pan for dessert.“
“Sooooo good! Hubby and I were both impressed. Hispanic music playing was only "Mexican atmosphere" influence but smell of food and great taste was enough. Home made flour tortillas and fresh chips were the icing on delicious food!“
“We ate lunch there on Friday, March 22, 2024. We had the fried catfish, coleslaw and beans. Everything was delicious. The coleslaw was fresh, beans were tasty and fish not oily. Excellent meal.Parking: We parked our 36 ft RV in the back lot. Roomy area.“
“First time here. The menu leans more for the English speaking customer. It has limited Mexican plates. I ordered Calabasitas con asadero. Since no egg plates that I liked, I got 2 side eggs and beans with chorizo. It was delicious. The place is very ample and well ventilated. Chair are supportive and table solid. The final touch was the small bouquet of gypsophila on the table.Parking: Only 2-3 spots in restaurants front, all others are on side lot“
