“If you're looking for an authentic West Texas Tex-Mex breakfast, Lupe's is absolutely worth the stop.
We stopped in for breakfast and left very impressed. I ordered the green chilaquiles, and they were outstanding. The salsa had just the right amount of flavor and brightness without overpowering the dish, and the refried beans were some of the best we've had. Creamy, rich, and clearly made with care.
My son went with the bean and cheese burrito, and it was simple, fresh, and exactly what a classic breakfast burrito should be. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
We also ordered the menudo. It arrived with a flavorful broth that just needed a little extra salt and a splash more vinegar for our personal taste. After making those small adjustments at the table, it really came to life and became a delicious bowl.
What we appreciated most was that nothing felt overcomplicated. This is the kind of place that serves honest, traditional Tex-Mex breakfast food with generous portions and friendly service. It's exactly what you hope to find while traveling through West Texas.
We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area, and I'd happily recommend Lupe's to anyone looking for a classic, satisfying West Texas Tex-Mex breakfast. Sometimes the best meals aren't fancy, they're simply done right. 🌮☕🌵“
