“Blue Bell ice cream served from inside an old train caboose. Waffle cones, regular cones, shakes and malts. Simple roadside stop. Nice little outdoor patio. I see some complaints about prices, I thought it was very reasonable. I had a 16 ounce chocolate malt for 6 bucks. Easily had 3 good Scoops in it. My teen daughters had waffle cones with two scoops and it was more than they could eat. For Blue Bell the price is fair and the space is fun. Choo-choo-choose it!”
“Food was incredible. Loved the apple brie fig sandwich and Mediterranean sandwich. My teenage boys loved the flatiron cheeseburgers. Highly recommend this place. Also next to a the Chateau Wright winery which was also amazing. Emily is the chef and she is wonderful!”
“Simple menu which I love. Ordered green chili enchiladas, which is a corn tortilla covered in cheese and green chili sauce- delicious. I ate the entire plate. Being from Houston, I'm used to meat in my enchilada- I didn't miss it in this plate. Rice and beans on point. Service impeccable even though they were super busy and close to closing. Group next to us ordered burgers that looked delicious. Love the ambiance- we could see the cooks working furiously in the kitchen. The owner apologized for being out of a few items, but it's understandable since not many restaurants are open in this town. An older Hispanic woman was also behind the counter and greeted us warmly. My wife always says "if somebody's abuela is in the kitchen cooking then you know it is good". This was our first visit in town and we got lucky. A local couple stood in the order line behind us and reassured us that everything is good. Turns out the woman was my hometown mail carrier and remembered my address!!!! My hometown is more than 600 miles away! Amazing. Delicious food and a lovely experience. We will be back next time we are in town.”
“Stopped in here while on a trip to the Davis Mountains. The cafe was super busy, but the kind woman working the register got us food to go. She went so far as to go box it up for us in the back - great service! Had coffee and biscuits and gravy. Highly recommend”
“Great little place for lunch. Staying at Davis Mountains State Park and local shopkeeper recommended this spot. It’s not the fanciest, but doesn’t need to be when the food is good and well portioned.”
“Fun find while visiting the Davis Mountains. Looks like a refreshed interior design, cheeery and bright, order at counter was fast, pretty menus, lots of customers all ages, 15 minutes for food served to table. Great size servings. We were pleased overall.”
“Casually elegant in a small Texas town. Personable service. Small menu with diverse offerings. Full bar available.Vegetarian options: A few items that are vegetarian or can be modified.”
“Great spot in Fort Davis, parking was always easy. The downstairs is a fun lounge area with foosball, pool, ping pong and darts. We couldn't hear any noise from our room and we were one of the closer rooms. My wife and I enjoyed talking with another couple one night while listening to music on vinyl upstairs. One of our kids left a stuffed animal and they even mailed it back to us. Thanks!”
“Family room restaurant. They took over the restaurant in 2023 and reopened in January 2024 so ignore any reviews before then.Good basic Texmex. My wife and I both had the enchilada dinner. I had the enchiladas with the green sauce which had white cheese and a Chilli Relleno. She had the enchiladas with the red sauce which I believe had cheddar cheese and a taco. All was very good.”
“One of the best food trucks I've been to! The tables and set up are really nice, clean, and look great. Nice atmosphere. The service was very friendly and everything was so freshly made to order. Now to the food which was amazing. My husband had the tacos and he loved them. I had the yummy papusas. They were very delicious and filling.I also have to mention the spicy slaw, which is hands down the best slaw I've ever had. I'd highly recommend and will go back for sure the next time we're in Fort Davis.”
