Matsui has my favorite classic pork katsu with curry in the DFW area. They are remarkably consistent with their food quality, taste, and portions. Always freshly fried to a beautiful crispy golden brown. Always an adequate amount of meat. Lots of rice, hot and tasty noodles. The list goes on.Please give Matsui a try if you are in the area. Maybe the issue is I just got back from Japan and the fact I was born there but this place was a disappointment. The first was a process issue. They wait to get the whole order complete before they call your number. So my wife's tendon which has fried tempura came out first. By the time we noticed it was on the counter on a tray it had been at least 7 mins. We went up and got it and the tempura had already started cooling off and as you know cold tempura is not tasty. Ramen lacked flavor and was not creamy at all (tonkotsu) but the katsu don and chicken karaage was decent. The katsu was well cooked and had some flavor, and the karaage was crunchy and equally well cooked.
