“Quaint little coffee shop that Port Lavaca is lucky to have. Each time I have spent money here, it has always been worth it. The interior seating is a little limited, but that doesn't take away from this place. It's very cozy inside, and a great place to sit down and have a quiet conversation.“

“Compared to other Starbucks that I frequent, this location is leaps and bounds the most friendly, personable and operates on a first name basis that always feels welcoming. When ordering ahead my orders are always ready when the app says they will be and I never have to make adjustments to my order after picking up. The service and coffee are consistent quality that merits recognition.“

“My review of this McDonald's will mirror my review of the Pizza Hut just up the road. Overall, food, and service ratings get five stars. As far as McDonald's food is concerned, it's great, and their fountain drinks are nice and carbonated. I think their diet coke might be better than Sonic's.

Anyway, I'm giving atmosphere a one-star rating for the exact same reason as Pizza Hut. The nostalgic building that, quite frankly, was a staple in Port Lavaca for years was torn down and replaced with a drab, uninviting, colorless rectangle. Bigger restaurant chains like Pizza Hut and McDonald's need to be better about reading the landscape for some of their locations. I totally understand the need for smaller, more modern building in high-traffic areas outside bigger cities. They make sense. However, the nostalgic playplaces, arcades, and vibrant colors are what draw people back in these small towns.“
