“We arrived and sat at the big table waiting for our friends. It took 15 minutes before a young man came to the table to ask what we wanted to drink.The menu is a blackboard, they do have menus but the prices have gone up. The food tasted really good. I got the shrimp enchiladas with red chili sauce but there was not a lot of the sauce. Just a few shrimp in the enchiladas, no cheese or veggies cut up. I will go back but ask more about what you get.“

The Restaurant is always clean, their food is fresh and they make it the way you order it, and they have breakfast, lunch and dinner!! My favorite is breakfast is the huevos rancheros with mexican potatoes on the side. Delicious! And the cactus mexican tacos with eggs! Yummy...& the pozole, delicious too!!!“

“This was our first time at the new location and we loved it! Great food, great drinks, and great service Carmela's gets a 10 out of 10 from my family. The waitress was amazing checking on us often, refilling our drinks before they got low, as well as interacting with our 3yr old daughter who loves to talk! The manager came by our table and checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. He is the one who told me I should try this weeks special the ceviche! “I am not exaggerating when I say that I've been to every taco truck in the Beaumont area, and don't get me wrong - they all have their specialties. However, this one takes the cake for overall service and authenticity. Every variety of taco they serve is absolutely mouth watering. There's not a single thing they offer that I would not recommend. And if you don't spread their complimentary green salsa on each bite, you're missing out on a piece of Heaven every time!It is well worth the drive to Port Arthur on any given day for tacos if you're in the area. I hesitate to go to any others if I have the time for a quick trip down the highway. It isn't hard to make time when you weigh the other options after you've tasted their menu!Family owned and operated. Wonderful people who are friendly and cook with true passion. I won't miss any opportunity to stop in when I'm passing thru.“

“Wow! Stopped by here after leaving Houston to find a hotel after hurricane beryl. Needed a warm meal and this place did not disappoint! Very very authentic Mexican food. The decor was very nice. The owners out a lot of love into this place. The food will take a little while to get to you, but let me tell you, the wait is worth it! The food tastes like a good home cooked meal with fresh ingredients. Good flavor on the steak meat. The chicharron was flavorful and all the tortillas were homemade. Give this place a try!“

It's usually busy and a great place for kids and families. They do have some vegetarian options and a lunch menu. But check to make sure if the beans and rice are made without meat products.

“Since everything in this town closes at 9:00, I decided to try this place out. I ordered a torta and Gordita, but they were out of gorditas so I grabbed 3 mini tacos. The meats are all prepared ahead and you can see them in the steam tray. Enjoyed everything, but the asada on the torta didn’t have a lot of flavor. Mini tacos were really good and the green salsa hit just right. Felt it was a good meal for the price I paid.“
