“As you cruise down the winding Texas roads from the bustling city of Houston towards the quaint town of Beaumont, a culinary oasis awaits in the unassuming town of Winnie. Tucked away like a hidden gem lies Mi Casa Taqueria, a beacon of flavor in the heart of this small Texan community. A little taste of Guadalajara cooking up birria tacos like to perfection.Picture this: tender, slow-cooked beef enveloped in a blanket of melted cheese, sandwiched between two golden tortillas crisped to perfection. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, a harmonious blend of savory meat, gooey cheese, fresh cilantro and white onions, dipped in a rich consume soup. But it’s not just about the food at Mi Casa; it’s about the experience. It’s about the warmth of the owners, the sense of community, and the passion that infuses every dish. As Anthony Bourdain himself would say, “Good food is very often, even most often, simple food.” And at Mi Casa Taqueria, simplicity reigns supreme, transforming a humble quesaburria into a culinary masterpiece. So, next time you find yourself on the road between Houston and Beaumont, do yourself a favor and make a pit stop at Mi Casa Taqueria. Your taste buds will thank you.“
“When you walk in here you think "is this it?" It looks like a canteen. But wow, the food. FAN. TAS. TIC. Ready in a heartbeat, very inexpensive, and filled to the brim with tasty ingredients. Served by friendly staff to boot. Unfortunately we were just passing through, but if we would be living in the area, we would eat here often!! I cannot recommend this highly enough, it's simply fantastic. Thank you for this amazing experience.“
“This is authentic street Tacos! This Little Taco place is located off the main road in winnie next to the tire shop. ( food is made to order)The area where the food is prepared is clean. I witnessed her washing her hands before cooking food both times. The lady that took my order was very friendly. The food was excellent!! My husband got 4 street tacos. Two Barbecoa and two pork with onion and Salantro. The food was so hot and fresh.I had Barria with onions, salantro. The tortillas were buttery, and the meat was tender with lots of flavor. I really enjoyed the cheese that was used very creamy and stretchy. Mmmm delicious and worth 5 stars. As you can see from the photos, we gobbled them up before I could get good photos. As always, if you found this review helpful, please give me a thumbs up. ?“
“This is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that didn't serve alcohol. Was really hoping to enjoy a nice cold beer with my dinner but had to settle for Pepsi instead. Food was good. Salsa was spicy . Food was so/so . Not bad all together.“
“This isn't the best Mexican food in Texas, but it's the best in Winnie. Their beef enchilada had grated cheese on top, rather than enchilada sauce, and was too dry, but their enchiladas verdes had a great green sauce, and they gladly gave us some extra sauce. It's apparently a family-run place, very friendly, with spotless restrooms, and the best thing is they have an ice-cream shop on the way in/out. Yeah, it's like putting candy next to the check-out aisle, but the mango sorbet sure was good!P.s.: They need a bigger sign out front.“
“I ❤️ this place!! Everything is sooo good & the service here is always phenomenal. My regular cravings are for the pistolette & fish/shrimp combo. I’m really happy we don’t have to drive 30-40min away for some great food!! ?“
