Sushi Sake Reviews
Sushi Sake has been my favorite restaurant and I’ve been a regular for 15+ years. Unfortunately tonight the manager would not comp a half eaten Louisiana roll which had a spoiled piece in the middle. She treated me like I was trying to get a free roll and told me she didn’t care if I ever came back or if I had been coming for 20+ years. Sushi Sake provides a memorable dining experience with excellent food options and ambiance. The black sesame basque cheesecake is a highlight, offering a unique and delicious flavor. The sushi and sashimi combo are of high quality, though sharing with a party of 2 can be a bit awkward. The handrolls are highly praised for their taste. Recently, the unagi nigiri and sashimi platter received accolades for their freshness and presentation, making them standout choices. The baked mussels were noted for their savory and creamy flavor, topped with roe for an added pop. The interior and service are top-notch, making it a suitable spot for family occasions or a date night. The Niku tofu appetizer, nigiri, and agedashi tofu are highly recommended. While some dishes like the volcano style scallop roll may be heavy on Mayo, the overall authentic Japanese experience and diverse menu make this restaurant a must-visit in Dallas.
Recent reviews highlight that the main sushi chef, Sodasan, occasionally may not be present, affecting the quality of sashimi, though the sushi rice remains well-tempered. Customers appreciate the calming ambiance, reminiscent of Kyoto, with warm hand towels provided upon seating. The extensive menu includes ramen, udon, and sushi, with the Sushi Sampler B and Una Ju being highly recommended. The restaurant is known for its quick service on weekdays and longer waits on weekends. Reviewers note exceptional experiences, with fresh sushi and attentive staff who pay close attention to details. Overall, Sushi Sake stands out among sushi houses in North Texas, showcasing a commitment to quality and a delightful dining atmosphere.
