True Texas BBQ is a barbecue restaurant found inside H-E-B grocery stores. The food is described as outrageous and not expensive. Customers enjoy everything on the menu. The Lamb Shawarma plate is delicious and highly recommended. The sliced brisket sandwich is also good. The brisket has a nice bark and is tender, with one son giving it a 7/10 and liking it over Terry Blacks. The banana pudding is delicious, and adding biscoff cookies makes it popular. The Turkey and the sauce are good. Other menu items include a BBQ plate, a family Party pack with 3 pounds of meat and 4 sides, a 1/2 rack of ribs, and burnt ends. The chili crisp green beans are spicy fried green beans. Service is fast and precise, with orders hot and fresh even near closing time. The staff takes pride in customer service, with one greeter being patient and helpful for a catering order for a potato bar. The store manager also offered contact information to make future catering seamless. This is now a preferred H-E-B location.
