On a whim we stopped for breakfast in Roma traveling to Laredo. We passed it at first but after seeing the outside decor (western) made a u-turn and decided to eat there. Boy did we get lucky. The gentleman at the register welcome us in and sat us down. He was super friendly and very attentive. I oredered the meat breakfast platter and a homemade biscuit with gravy. We stopped here while exploring the “valley” from a business trip in Laredo. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband had the Chili Relleno picadillo - poblano pepper stuffed with meat and the most flavorful carrot and potatoes it was breaded with egg batter and the was the best he’s had and he’s in Mexico often. I absolutely love good Tex-Mex food and, Tex-Mex at Rancho Café is as good as it gets! I had number 70, Mexican dinner, two enchiladas, Chalupa, taco, rice and beans. My sweet waitress threw in Menudo and a complementary piece of pumpkin pie. My “glass“ of iced tea was perfectly brewed and came in a gigantic beer mug. If I lived here, I would eat there every single day!
