Great family restaurant. We’ve started coming to this restaurant 22 years ago. We take the drive from Bastrop once a week to enjoy the wonderful food here. We enjoy our birthday dinners here as well.
Have been eating here for decades! Best Chinese food in the area!
My family went today. We used to go a lot before they closed for a bit. Glad we were able to go again. First time my nephew had their food. He says “the shrimp is great and the lady was very nice.” Brings back great memories and absolutely delicious.

Hunan Lion Chinese Restaurant is a highly-regarded establishment known for its authentic and freshly made Chinese cuisine. This family-owned restaurant is praised for its excellent service, with staff who are professional, polite, and ensure every customer is satisfied. Popular dishes include General Tso's, Teriyaki Chicken, and the best Sesame Chicken in the Austin Metro, along with Chicken Fried Rice, which has more peas and carrots than most others. The restaurant has maintained its high-quality food and service for many years, making it a beloved staple for those in the Round Rock area.
Customers have noted the food is great, with proteins being large and portions allowing for sharing. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. While it's recommended to avoid the busy lunch rush, the wait time is worth it for the delightful experience. The restaurant is often crowded, which is a great sign of its popularity. The service is fast, polite, and efficient, even during peak hours. Customers have enjoyed the Hunan Chicken, hot and sour soup, and dumplings, all of which are freshly prepared and served steaming hot.
