“This was a fun stop on our trip through Texas. A hidden little gem in the tiny town of Rowena. We pulled up to an old gas station with live music full of people enjoying microbrew. Totally unexpected. The inside was full of even more people and the owner and operator couple was behind the bar offering tastings and suggestions. We tried a flight to be sure we didn’t miss anything. All were enjoyable. They even had homemade snacks! We sat for a while and enjoyed the music outside. I look forward to the next time we pass through Rowena to visit Horny Toad Brewing Company again.”

“My husband and I wanted to eat dinner in Miles after visiting Huff’s. The Catch Pen was a place we had wondered about after seeing others who liked it. Bob’s BLT was excellent, and I had the Deluxe Grilled Cheese, which came with onions, Jalepenos, and mushrooms. I opted for just mushrooms. Little did i know it came with a juicy, perfectly cooked hamburger patty. Yum!!!! We each had an adult beverage served in super cold glasses, but th best part was the Fried Okra. Fresh okra perfectly fried!!! We will definitely return! Oh, and the folks are super nice!”

The food was high quality, tasty and a great value. Would gladly come again.. and they will hold the door open for you even minutes before closing time (2 pm). check it out!”

“Taco salad with homemade chili was excellent! Lettuce was chopped in bite size pieces as were the tomatoes. The chili was awesome. Strawberry milkshake was great too as was the service!”

“We had our first bad experience at Rangel’s today and, will not be back. It seems like the employees there are only after a paycheck and do not seem to care about the actual job they have. Our total bill for me and my 2 kids was $53 ($5 tip included). The food was nothing more than a frozen Banquet dinner it seemed like. My green enchiladas had a artificial looking green sauce on top and it was poured on top of enchiladas that had been frozen and not thawed all the way. My daughter’s chicken strips were not breaded fully and her French fries were over cooked. She couldn’t even eat the gravy. While the waitress was taking our order, she told us to wait in the process to run and deliver someone else’s meals to their table. We sat patiently and waited for her to come back and finish taking our order. There were only 3 other customers in the restaurant when we arrived. Every table was dirty. The one we finally found to sit at was so sticky that our napkins stuck to the table. I’m not sure who owns this restaurant but, they need to know how it is being operated.”

“Love this place!! Best place to eat Mexican food in Ballinger Texas!! It's a hidden gem! Reminds me of my Mama's cooking! If I could give them 10 stars I would!! Even my Dad who is 86 yrs old loves this Little Restaurant!”

“Alejandra's is excellent for your pocket book and they offer daily specials. It has a history with my family and the owner who once was our neighbor and we know him well. We enjoy their business”

“We stopped in after a 3-hour drive, and I ordered a veggie sandwich asking for the veggies to be toasted. The employee went above and beyond—she offered to grill the veggies on the flat top instead, and absolutely nailed it. She timed everything perfectly: the spinach was lightly wilted, the tomatoes warmed just enough, and the bell peppers softened beautifully. I’ve been to plenty of Subways and never seen this level of care—it’s rare to see someone take so much pride in making a sandwich.

On top of that, our two toddlers were running in circles giggling and playing, and the staff didn’t bat an eye. They were kind, welcoming, and even laughed along. Most places would have been annoyed, but they created a genuinely friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The sandwich? Absolutely delicious. Easily one of the best Subway experiences we’ve had.

“Called in an order but the reception wasn't good so I hung up. I was shocked when I received a call from Kathy from her cell phone. Amazing! She was very sweet and took my order. Hot and fresh wings were ready for me. Thanks for the great service Kathy!!”

“Came through the drive-thru, and it was quick and easy! My Smash Burger was made just like I wanted it with lots of grilled onion. It was fresh and hot as it should be. My Rt. 44 Ocean Water was also good, not too much ice either.”
